You are invited to join us for the Southern Policymaker Academy in Atlanta, GA, on July 30-31.
The Mayor’s office of the City of Atlanta and the Southern AIDS Coalition (SAC), is hosting an in-person academy for policymakers from across the South. Led by faculty with lived experience and subject-matter expertise, including advocates, researchers, and changemakers, this is a space to identify opportunities and policy action to address HIV’s impact on the region.
The South experiences a higher burden of HIV compared to other regions across the U.S., especially among communities of color. Southern policymakers will learn from advocacy leaders and people living with HIV about their experiences, critical issues, and strategies for aligning on bipartisan policy solutions to challenges facing our communities.
Your perspective and voice will be critical in our agenda to address access to therapies, breaking down barriers, health inequities, criminalization, and more. Scholarships are available for people who need assistance attending.
