World AIDS Day, observed annually, serves as a reminder of the global fight to end HIV-related stigma, a moment to honor those we’ve lost, and a call to action toward a future where HIV is no longer a public health threat. First held in 1988, it provides a platform to raise awareness about HIV/AIDS and recognize the lives impacted by the epidemic. Thanks to advances in medical research, improved access to treatment and prevention, and a deeper understanding of HIV/AIDS, significant progress has been made.
